a .50 is a little more than I want to use for plinking! I tend to get a bit sore after a box of the stuff. Since all that is factory loaded for this monster is JHP's you are kinda stuck. I don't think anyone makes FMJ bullets for it either. If you are shooting a Deasert Eagle that is it, revolvers you can load up lead bullets at reduced loads for plinking.

I plink with my father out in the deserts of UT and he reloads alittle....he plays with "evil reloads" for his DE 50! Its pretty bad when you can tell a "major" difference between the factory rounds and them "BOOM!" I almost dropped his gun the first time...he snuck one in on me...shoot well.

Try CCI-Speer "Blazer" 50AE loads for "plinking" these are far more economical than anything else on the market today.
