I do not recall a failure to feed, fire, or function with Wilson 8s. I just replace the springs when they quit picking up the slide stop and replace the base pads when they crack. Good enough for the range.
I still carry Metalform 7s because they do not do either. The last new Metalform my FLG got in was pretty rough, though. If it turns out their overall quality has fallen off, I'd go for a Wilson 7 with metal bottom piece.
