I don't have a CCU, but I will note that any velocity increase depends on the particular load selected. In the 16" Marlin Camp Carbine, .45ACP hardball isn't significantly faster than it is from a 5" pistol barrel. Clearly, the load is optimized for pistol use.

ALso, the 1911 frame that you insert into the CCU cannot have an extended thumb safety. The CCU will block it and make it impossible to put the piece on safe. A GI-style safety works fine.

After reading your reply, however, I spoke with John at Pro Load. I was told to expect some increased velocity. We'll see.

I'll have to dig out the old chonograph. :smile:
