I talked to Dick Heine the first of the week. He was grouchy. I was grouchy the week before and it hasn't gotten any better.
Larry is beside himself over the Kimbers he has been working on.

You have to ask why?

Here's why

The Single Stack Classic is April 28 and 29!

Springfield is the major sponsor and Dick Hieinie wrangles his buddies to build donation guns from the kits Springfield supplies for match prizes. It is a GREAT deal for everyone...well almost everyone  I assume Larry Vickers is doing one , I am doing one, and Dick's right hand man, Matt is doing his own gun for the match this again this year. Plus Dick's OA winner's gun. I am sure there are a bunch more besides the three I am sure of.

So why are we grouchy? Well as of a week ago....three of us hadn't started their prize guns yet.

Things are a little hectic and they all fall to Richard Heinie in the end to make the match a success.

Good luck to Dick and all the shooters of the 2001 SSC....BTW my gun should be there on Tuesday FED EX

Sorry, no pictures this time

Gotta go! Back to work!

You guys haven't started your pistols yet, and I keep getting phone calls about holsters? This ain't fair, and I'm not even grouchy! How the hell can Dick find the time to dance when he's got all this work. Of course, the guy's so talented in many different areas. I heard a rumor that he's gonna write a song next! He figures that when he runs out of work, he can just sit back and collect royalties from his music. Kinda like the Mel Torme of the pistolsmithing world!

Lou, I can vouch for Rupert the gun hog being grouchy. Called him earlier this week and pissed him off trying to buy [another of] his personal carry pistols.

Hmmmmm, guess I will just have to call Mrs. Burns and tell her about Ol' Dane not selling the pistols he builds..........my guess is, she will put skillet to head and get him thinking straight.

Last chance Burns, or should I say, fair warning?

Come on, Desert Dog, there is work to do!

Dane...this is off topic, but the email bounce thing? Get this. One of my partners here in the office bought into some BS from a guy who said that for $14 a month, he would run a program on our email, guaranteeing no virus made it through. Forget that we already have anti-virus progs, etc. So, he hooks it up, and, by gawd he was right.

Know how to prevent viruses through email? Make sure no email gets into the place. You are one of the nice guys though...you should here some of the phone calls I have gotten.

I will call ya later  Nice big round on that other thread. Is that the Burns? Sweet.

Sometimes, computer techs are worse than gun writers. Gee, I always thought that grouchiness was just a part of Dane's personality.

A super for the table? Why not a 9x23?

Super? Because most of the competition crowd hasn't a clue how good 9x23 really is. The vast majority in IPSC and IDPA, shoot 38 supers in a minor power factor. While my signature guns are 9x23, no reason to attempt the education of some poor smuch that will just as likely want to sell the pistol the moment they win it anyway

38 Super is also cheaper to shoot and easier to make run.

I want 9x23 and the option of the power level. But this one is a "GIVE AWAY" gun, so I made it easy on me and easy on the new owner of a BCP.

Anyone going to the SSC match please let the winner know I will offer a instant cash buy back on this handgun.

Hey man, give us a break. We have the most thankless and (usually) underpaid jobs out there! Granted, some are slime like in any profession, but all of us suffer from a long slide into cynicism and black thoughts after a few years... LOL!
