I put an Ed Brown tactical safety in my Kimber and now I want to replace the sear hammer and disconnector with toll steel parts. My question is will I need to refit a new thumb safety to work with the new sear.
Harley, you'll have to tell us, after you fit the new parts. If you find that the old safety has been cut too much after the new hammer, sear and disconnector have been fit, take the safety to a local welding shop that does heli-arc. Show them the fitting pad and have them put a little blob of weld on the pad, near the edge. After welding, file it back to fit the new parts. It's commonly done and shouldn't be a lot of trouble.
And who has toll steel parts, I have not seen these?? (must be some secret project stuff)I would want to be on the cutting edge. of course with my spelling I should be the last in the world to say anything :smile:
